Disputed transaction inquiries

If you think there's been a mistake regarding a bankcard transaction already posted
to your account, you can make a inquiry to our bank by filling in a Card inquiries
form, available at the bank's branches or on its website.

The process for instigating an investigation is as follows:

  • You need to provide your personal details as well as the details of the disputed transaction on the form. (Please make sure that the information you provide is accurate.) This is especially important when you are filling in the obligatory fields marked with an asterisk. Failure to do so may delay or even prevent the successful investigation of the matter.
  • A few minutes after you have completed and sent the form, an electronic letter with a confirmation number will be sent to the email address specified in the form. The letter contains a copy of the disputed transaction form you submitted but does not display any of your personal data.
  • If you send any supporting documents (e.g. certificatory slips, contracts, etc) to the bank by post, fax or email, please make sure you indicate the reference number that was sent to you in the email message mentioned in the previous point.
  • The branch that manages your current account will notify you in writing of the results of the investigation of your disputed transaction inquiry.
  • Please note that, pursuant to OTP Bank's Business Conditions, the amount of the contested transaction will be credited, with the original interest date, to your account within 7 (seven) working days following the arrival of the form.

    However, the crediting can only be considered final once OTP Bank has ascertained that the inquiry has been completed and the disputed transacton found just. Should a disputed transaction prove to be unjustified, the item in question will be debited, together with any interest that has accrued since the date of the crediting.
